Rev. Ernest V. George has been in the Lord's ministry for the last 27 years of which he has been the founder and Senior Pastor of Garden City Assembly of God, Bangalore . Born into a Christian home, Ernest grew up in the Pentecostal environment all of his life. His father, Rev. Dr. T C George held various positions in the Assemblies of God and his mother Raji was the perfect homemaker.
Ernest was born with a speech impediment – a stammering tongue and hence he was a very shy boywith an inferiority complex. Having done brilliantly in his studies, he aspired to become a medical doctor, as this profession did not involve much talking it seemed the perfect choice. But God had other plans.

At the age of eight, while conducting a ‘mock' revival service when he was home alone, little Ernest was engrossed in preaching the Gospel to his pillows and cushions in the living room when suddenly God appeared to him in a vision! This dramatic encounter transformed the young boy giving him a sense of spiritual destiny. God showed him a vision in which he was preaching to thousands of people of various colors and nations. This was a seeming impossibility to Ernest but he held on to this vision.

Many years passed by and Ernest was armed with an admission into the medical college, but God intervened again at a youth camp in 1984. At the altar, as Ernest committed his life to the Lord, God touched his mouth and healed him! At the same time he was filled with the Holy Spirit. It was here that he decided to give up his medical admission and join Bible College .

After graduating from Southern Asia Bible College , Bangalore , Ernest moved to Australia for further studies. Here he helped out in many churches and was trained for a period under Pas. Jim Williams, who influenced him greatly.

On his return to India in 1991, Ernest pioneered Discipleship Training Centre and Garden City Assembly of God was founded in 1994. From evangelist, to teacher, to tele-evangelist, to being a pastor, Rev. Ernest George is committed to seeing the Gospel of our Lord spread through the nations. He has traveled widely and preached at conferences and churches in Hong Kong , Singapore , Australia and the United States of America .
